WHAT COURSE DO I FOLLOW? National Curriculum
WHAT WILL I STUDY?

Football_2014_team_360All KS4 students will have three lessons of Physical Education each fortnight. The main aim of the Physical Education programme will be to provide a broad and balanced range of activities for all of our students. Activities to be covered in KS3, wherever possible, will include: soccer, netball, rugby, badminton, hockey, cross-country, gymnastics, basketball, table tennis, health-related fitness, multi-gym, trampolining, cricket, rounders, athletics, softball, tennis and volleyball.

In KS4 students will have a choice from an options list. Students will be encouraged to follow their chosen activity for a ten week block to change their options at the end of each block, wherever possible. Hopefully, students will develop a keen interest in at least one activity and will continue with it after they have left school.

Students will also have the opportunity to enrol on the Ascot Junior Sports Leader Award system. (Ask a member of PE staff for more information on the JSLA. This course enables students to develop leadership and teaching skills within a range of sports situations giving the opportunity to for students to coach and referee at the many sports festivals held at the school

If selected, students will be expected to represent the school in inter-school matches.
