The Curriculum

Our aim is to develop the potential of all our students and the curriculum is designed to meet their individual needs. We do our very best to ensure that they are on the right course to enable them to progress.

Key Stage 3

The curriculum students follow in Year 9 is designed to be broad and balanced and follows National Curriculum requirements. Our aim is to ensure students experience a good basic education that builds on what they have learnt at Middle School and keeps all their options open in preparation for progressing to GCSE courses at the end of Year 9. We also plan our curriculum so that students are able to access two modern languages. Students of all abilities are involved in the full range of the curriculum as we believe that every student should be offered the same opportunities. A great deal of liaison takes place between the school and Middle Schools to ensure continuity and progression.

Reviews of student progress take place in November, January and April when progress data is published. The Year 9 Consultation Evening will take place in March 2018 with a written report to be published in July 2018.
